We have reached a tentative agreement for a 3-year contract (2013-2015) with the City. We have scheduled two vote meetings, please plan on attending one of them to hear full details of the tentative agreement, and to vote. You need to be a full member to vote. If you are currently a fair-share member you can become a full member at the meeting.
Tuesday, May 7 at 12:30 p.m. in City Hall, room 41 (basement level)
or
Wednesday, May 8 at 5:00 p.m. at the Rondo Library
It will depend on how much discussion there is but the agenda would be for an overview to be given of the tentative agreement, followed by questions and discussion, followed by the vote. We will aim for 45 minutes of overview and discussion and then the vote.
Note: The question of whether we distribute a summary of the agreement BEFORE the meeting always comes up.It is our policy to not distribute the summary before-hand. We want to encourage everyone to come to the meeting and hear the reasoning behind it.
Everyone should consider it their duty to vote on the contract that will govern their working relationship with the City.
