The tentative agreement passed by a majority of those who voted. The new Contract is for 2008, 2009, and 2010 and includes wage increases of 3.25% effective May 1, 2008; 3.25% effective April 1, 2009; and 3.25% effective January 1, 2010. The Deferred Compensation match is raised from $100 to $250 per year, effective January 1, 2008. For those of you who are not already enrolled in Deferred Compensation, please see pages 73 - 78 of the Employee Benefits booklet. It gives a very good explanation of what deferred compensation is and how to get started. Go to http://www.stpaul.gov/index.asp?nid=787 and then click on 2008 Employee Benefits Booklet. (Note: Everyone might want to bookmark, or save as a Favorite, the above link for future reference, since we did not get printed booklets this year!) The City mileage reimbursement rate will convert to the IRS rate, effective December 18, 2010. And finally, promotion rights for School District employees seeking City positions will be eliminated, starting in 2010. |
